    The analogue part of gameplay

Developing a game within 48 hours real time all over the world on different locations. This is the Global Game Jam which is the world’s largest game jam event. In January 2014 I participated in cologne.

Together with a group of awesome and very talented people we developed the game Theseus. As this years motto was „We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” we had a deep discussion about this topic. If everybody sees the world with different eyes, how can we ever unite and understand each other? Long Story short – the key is communication.

This leds us to create an experimental game made for two players with it’s connection between digital and analogue. The interesting part is that the two players are the same character. The digital one is looking through an Oculus Rift – experiencing a whole own world and unable to see what the analogue player sees. As them both can’t behold what the other one is doing they have to communicate to solve some riddles which are connected and need to be solved to master the game.
